Rebuilding cost was $5,300 - Engine has less than 4000 miles on it. LAST PHOTOS ARE WHAT WE FEEL THE CAR WILL LOOK LIKE WHEN FINISHED What we have here is a 1948 Chrysler Town and Country Convertible Project that was the personal car of The World renowned Chip Kussmal, owner of Cincinnati Woodworks. Chip has spent the past thirty years building wood sets for wooden cars. He has restored and replaced wood in virtually every kind of car from every time period. He has build complete bodies for over 200 woodies. AMERICAN AUTOMOTIVE WOODWORKS, INC was fortunate buy many of the tools, parts, cars and kits that Chip had left when he closed his shop to pursue other interests. This was the last Town and Country body that he built and is regarded as one of, if not the best, one he ever build. Not only did he hand build the complete body but he personally fit the body to this car himself. Our plan was to ship the car to California and complete it. If it does not sell we will do that. Everything you see in the photos sells as a lot. This includes: 1. A basket case T&C covert (no wood), but with a title. 2. A hybrid T&C with new wood, on what was originally a New Yorker chassis. 3. A re-built engine with less than 5000 miles on it. The metal is in excellent condition. Chrome is driver quality. To complete the conversion of this car from New Yorker to T&C, the existing upper cowl will have to be replaced with a convertible upper cowl. The metal deck that spans the two rear wells will have to be installed. The X-bracing on the frame should be installed. All these items are available from the T&C in item 1, or from any appropriate convertible. Out shop can do this work for you at a very resonable cost. 3. Most, but not all, of the goodies needed to complete the project are included. There are duplicate and triplicates of some items. These spair parts are worth no less than $5000.
